25 Year Timeline

1956

By the mid-1950s, Drury’s book collection was becoming too large to be housed in Harwood Library. In 1956, Mrs. Eugenia G. Walker’s will left $225,000 to Drury College, as well as the rare book collection of her late husband, Major Theodore Penfield Walker, Drury College Class of 1908. The Board of Trustees votes to build a new library named in his memory.
